Can women pee standing up?

Without a device

It is physically possible: by standing with feet apart, leaning slightly back and parting the labia with the fingers, some women can direct a stream forward. In practice it is hard to control, takes practice, and usually means getting urine on your hands, legs or clothes — and it requires undressing far more than most situations allow.

With a female urination device

Is it hygienic?

Standing avoids contact with a toilet seat entirely, and hovering — the common alternative — can make it harder to empty your bladder fully because the pelvic floor muscles stay tensed.
